VIDEO: Hot Air Balloon Crashes in Makhachkala, Injuries Reported

A hot air balloon carrying passengers has crashed in Makhachkala after hitting a cliff. This information was reported to RIA Novosti by Tatiana Golubova, the senior assistant to the republic’s prosecutor.

“Preliminary reports indicate that on July 1, a hot air balloon transporting people fell after colliding with a rock on the slope of Mount Tarki-Tau. There are casualties,” said Golubova.

The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation. According to a source from the agency, the department will clarify whether safety regulations and other legal requirements were adhered to while providing hot air balloon flight services.
