Son of Former Syunik Governor Detained, According to Media
On June 29, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Tavush Regional Directorate of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and the criminal investigation division of the Novemberyani police conducted a special operation in the Tavush region. This was reported by shamshyan.com.
The Tavush Regional Police received operational information that there were suspicious individuals in a Mercedes vehicle traveling on the Voskavan-Baghanis highway, and that there might be weapons in the car.
The police went to the indicated location, where they spotted the Mercedes and stopped it. A firearm was found in the car, and in the trunk, a wooden baton was also discovered. The vehicle, the driver, and the passengers were taken to the Novemberyani police station.
According to the media report, one of the passengers was 27-year-old Tirdat Khachatryan, a resident of the Syunik region, who is the son of the former governor of Syunik, Surik Khachatryan, known as “Liska.” His brother, Tigran Khachatryan, is currently wanted by the authorities.
