"Do Not Repeat Angela Merkel's Mistake": Ukraine's Foreign Minister

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has urged Germany not to repeat the mistake made by former Chancellor Angela Merkel regarding NATO membership for Ukraine.

"My message is clear: do not repeat the mistake that Chancellor Merkel made in 2008 in Bucharest when she opposed any progress on Ukraine's membership in NATO," Kuleba stated.

According to him, the mistake of the leaders of NATO member states is viewing Ukraine's membership in the alliance as a path to a "new war."

"In reality, it is the path to peace," said the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
