It is very important that Armenia is becoming a preferred country for foreigners to live and work, says Arshakyan

The situation created in Armenia is unique in its nature. The influx of thousands of foreigners necessitates additional steps in creating the appropriate new tools and environment. This was stated by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan, in a post on his Facebook page.

“I closely read all the comments made under my photo yesterday and would like to respond:

  1. The laws of the Republic of Armenia must be adhered to without exception; this is not subject to discussion. I am very pleased that our citizens treat the laws with such care and exercise civic oversight over them. I am confident that the oversight bodies are also vigilant on this issue.
  2. The situation created in Armenia is unique in its nature. The influx of thousands of foreign nationals necessitates additional steps to create the appropriate new tools and environment. For example, there is a need for high-quality and accessible Armenian language courses for the thousands of foreigners who have moved to Armenia (this is pointed out by the heads of the companies that have relocated to Armenia). At the same time, there are many urgent problems requiring interim solutions, such as the organization of education for foreign children.
  3. In my previous post, I particularly emphasized our attitude towards service-providing individuals. It is very important that Armenia is becoming a preferred country for foreigners to live and work. This speaks to our society’s hospitality, tolerance, accessibility of services, as well as the effectiveness of state policies. Our task is to showcase Armenia’s advantages and not to overshadow them due to any incident, and certainly, steps must be taken regarding the establishment of the rule of law, with relevant bodies consistently addressing the highlighted issues,” he wrote.

It is noteworthy that the day before, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly made another post, emphasizing that for him, a person's civility begins with their attitude towards the person providing them service, regardless of what language they speak, their skin color, or their nationality.

“Many of our compatriots live in different countries around the world. I have seen shop workers in Glendale who do not speak English, in Paris who do not speak French, and laborers in Moscow who do not speak Russian, but I would consider any disrespect towards them to be condemnable. You can communicate in multiple languages, obtain the best education, wear impeccable clothing, but disrespectful treatment towards a bartender, a server, or a cleaner will speak to your uncivility,
