Azerbaijan's Accusations Are Completely False: There Are No Armenian Soldiers in Artsakh, Marukyan
Azerbaijani media report on a new special operation being prepared by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, claiming that the four soldiers killed on June 28 are members of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. The accusations from the Azerbaijani side are entirely false; there are no Armenian soldiers in Artsakh, and the killed soldiers were from Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenia has repeatedly offered to send an international investigative mission to Nagorno-Karabakh to prove the presence or absence of its armed forces units. Azerbaijan has rejected this proposal.
Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan wrote on his Twitter microblog: “The initiation of a new provocation by Azerbaijan will once again violate the trilateral statement of November 9, under which Russian peacekeepers are to ensure the safety of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.”
The international community should monitor Azerbaijan's actions to prevent another provocation and the ethnic cleansing policy against Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh.
