Chisinau Airport Resumes Flights After Shooting Incident
Chisinau Airport has resumed regular flights following a shooting incident that left two people dead and one injured. Arriving passengers are being escorted by official delegations, according to reports from TASS citing the airport's press service.
Sputnik Moldova, referencing Flightradar, notes that the first flight from the airport departed for Warsaw at 20:23 local time (coinciding with Moscow time).
During the shooting, a border guard and an airport security officer were killed, while one passenger was injured. Following the incident, a criminal case has been opened under the terrorism article.
The Prosecutor General of Moldova reported that the shooter, a citizen of Tajikistan who was denied entry into Moldova, has been hospitalized in serious condition and faces life imprisonment.
