Poland Purchases $15 Billion Patriot Systems from the U.S.
The Pentagon has announced that Poland will purchase Patriot missile defense systems worth up to $15 billion from the United States.
The State Department, which oversees arms exports, has approved the deal, which will see Warsaw receiving some of the most advanced air defense systems available.
“The planned transaction will enhance Poland’s missile defense capabilities and assist in achieving Poland’s military modernization goals, while also increasing interoperability with the U.S. and other allies,” the agency stated in its announcement.
It is noted that Patriot systems have proven to be highly effective in defending Ukraine against Russian aerial attacks.
