US Will Continue to Assist Armenia and Azerbaijan in Developing This Process: State Department
The United States is pleased to act as a mediator in the negotiations between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller announced yesterday.
Miller conveyed that Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with the foreign ministers of both countries on Tuesday morning, both individually and in a trilateral format. During each meeting, he emphasized that direct dialogue is crucial for problem-solving and ensuring lasting and dignified peace.
Miller stated that the U.S. is encouraged by the effective engagement of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the recent peace process, and "we will continue to assist them in developing this process," the State Department spokesman noted.
June 27 was the first day of the meetings, and discussions will continue until June 29, Miller also said.
