What Lavrov Said about Macron's Comments
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, believes that French President Emmanuel Macron views the situation regarding the rebellion in the Russian Federation as an opportunity to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. He stated this in an interview with RT.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry thus commented on the French president's statement that the rebellion in Russia fully justifies Western support for Ukraine. “I think even an eighth-grader would understand Macron’s defended position,” said Sergey Lavrov.
It's worth noting that Macron commented on the rebellion in Russia during an interview with La Provence newspaper. Among other things, the president mentioned that he is monitoring how the situation is developing in Russia “hour by hour” with France's key partners. The country’s leader called for caution, as the situation is “in a phase of development.”
Recall that on June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin accused the Ministry of Defense of striking the positions of his brigade and stated that his fighters were heading to Moscow. The FSB has launched a criminal case regarding the organization of armed rebellion. The situation was resolved on the evening of June 24, through mediation by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
