Video: Shoigu Appears on Camera for the First Time After Prigozhin's Rebellion
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has checked the frontline command point of the "Western" military group in the special military operation zone. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“During work in the area of the special military operation, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergey Shoigu, inspected the frontline command point of one of the units of the ‘Western’ military group. At the command point, the head of the Russian military department was informed by the commander of the group, Lieutenant General Yevgeny Nikiforov, about the current situation, the nature of the enemy's actions, and the main tactical directions in the performance of combat missions by Russian troops,” the ministry stated.
Additionally, the ministry added that the group commander reported to Sergey Shoigu on the formation of newly created reserve battalions for the ‘Western’ military group and the ongoing combat coordination.
It is noted that the leader of the ‘Wagner’ military group, Prigozhin, stated that the Russian Ministry of Defense, led by Shoigu, had decided to eliminate his group and began a rebellion.
