Expectations for Counteroffensive Were Exaggerated: Ukraine's Defense Minister

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov referred to Ukraine's current counteroffensive as a preparatory operation. In an interview with Fox News, he stated that the counteroffensive will succeed when it operates at full capacity. He added that expectations for the counteroffensive were exaggerated.

According to him, Ukraine aims to avoid risking its brave and motivated fighters, in contrast to the Russian approach of utilizing troops, which the minister described as a "meat grinder."

“I feel that we will win this war because we are fighting for our country. This year will be a breakthrough,” Reznikov noted.
