EU Could Train Up to 30,000 Ukrainian Soldiers by Year-End: Borrell
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, believes that by the end of the year, up to 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers could be retrained in EU countries, according to Interfax.
“Already, 24,000 Ukrainian soldiers have participated in training missions, so it is possible to reach the target of 30,000 by year-end,” he stated during a press conference in Brussels on Monday.
Borrell noted that the EU will continue to support Ukraine, including in the long term. “We will continue providing military assistance to Ukraine in the areas of air defense and training,” Borrell emphasized, highlighting that the EU is relying on a world based on UN principles.
