After the War, Azerbaijan Doubles the Number of Its Special Forces Units: MP

Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan writes on his Facebook page: "After the 44-day war in 2020, Azerbaijan has doubled the number of its special forces units, reforming military units according to NATO standards and introducing new criteria for combat operations.

Information from various open sources, the training of 'Commandos,' and the study of newly formed military units indicate that 18,000 to 20,000 servicemen have been retrained as part of reforms carried out in cooperation with Turkey. Additionally, a large number of servicemen are undergoing education and training programs in military educational institutions in Azerbaijan and other countries, which are not included in that figure.

How is it that the Armenian authorities are promoting a false sense of peace within the country, while various governmental figures talk daily about brotherhood with the Turks and Azerbaijanis and its benefits, while the President of Azerbaijan openly states that in international relations, strength, not international law, resolves issues and announces a significant increase in military reforms, including special forces and military imports? Azerbaijan's confrontational policy towards Armenia reflects its hardline approach to these developments.
