Azerbaijan Doesn't Allow Anyone to Enter Artsakh, Claims Everything is Fine and Prohibits Inspections: Paul Gavan
Paul Gavan, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the reporter on the topic of ensuring free and safe access through the Lachin corridor, stated in an interview with Mediabox that the Lachin corridor is the only route connecting the Armenian population of Artsakh with Armenia, and the situation there is serious.
"This is not just about the blockade of that area; gas and electricity supplies to the region's population have been halted. It is a very serious situation from the perspective of human rights. I have explicitly called for the blockade to be lifted and for gas and electricity supplies to be restored. I proposed sending a fact-finding group regarding the situation in Artsakh to the region. Azerbaijan is not allowing me, nor the human rights commissioner, nor the UN refugee commissioner, nor anyone else to enter that territory, claiming that everything is fine and prohibiting inspections to verify its claims," the Irish MP said.
