1-Year-Old Child from Artsakh in Urgent Need of Transfer to Armenia, Says Artsakh Health Ministry
The Ministry of Health of Artsakh reports that as of June 15, it has now been the 9th day since Artsakh has been under complete blockade by Azerbaijan, without any humanitarian movement. Approximately 190 patients with various diagnoses are waiting for the opportunity to be transferred to healthcare facilities in the Republic of Armenia to receive the necessary medical assistance.
A 1-year-old child diagnosed with viral encephalitis with hemorrhagic components, currently located in the neonatal and intensive care unit of the "Arevik" medical center under the Ministry of Health of Artsakh, requires urgent transfer.
Currently, there are 96 patients receiving inpatient treatment at the "Republican Medical Center" LLC of Artsakh, with 7 patients in the intensive care unit, 4 of whom are in critical condition. At the "Arevik" medical center, 33 children are receiving inpatient treatment, with 1 in severe condition.
During these days, the movement of Artsakh patients and the supply of medical supplies and medicines to Artsakh has been completely blocked by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Due to the suspension of medicine imports, all planned examinations and interventions have been halted in all healthcare institutions of the republic.
The Ministry of Health of Artsakh has stocked up on a certain amount of medicines and medical supplies during these days, but the supplies are very limited. If the situation persists, the system will face serious challenges.
