Russia Considering Terror Attack Scenario at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Zelensky Says
Ukrainian intelligence has received information indicating that Russia is contemplating a terrorist attack scenario at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) involving radiation release, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We have just received a report from our intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine that Russia is considering a terrorist attack scenario at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant – a terrorism act involving radiation release. They have prepared everything for this,” he said.
According to the President, all available information is now being communicated to international partners and organizations.
“We are sharing all available information with all our partners around the world. All confirmations. Europe, America, China, Brazil, India, the Arab world, Africa. All countries, absolutely everyone, needs to know this. International organizations – absolutely everything. The world has been warned, so the world can and must act,” Zelensky emphasized.
“There should never be terrorist attacks at nuclear power plants,” he stressed. He also noted that Ukraine's intelligence and the SBU have gathered new evidence regarding the Russians' detonation of structures at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. He specifically mentioned that “there was a fully premeditated calculated crime in the occupied territory, at a plant that was under the complete control of the Russians.”
