Araik Harutyunyan to Be Summoned by Investigative Commission Looking into 44-Day War Circumstances

The President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, will also be summoned by the investigative commission studying the circumstances of the 44-day war. This was announced by the head of the commission after a meeting involving Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Andranik Kocharyan, the head of the RA National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, also addressed Pashinyan's statement about the contradictory information provided by the Chief of General Staff regarding the battles in Shushi. This was reported by ‘Lurer’.

“During those days, if my memory serves me right, I personally spoke with the former Chief of the General Staff, Onik Gasparyan. The information coming from Shushi was very contradictory. Do you remember Mr. Vanetsyan handing over weapons to the military police in Vardenis on the 8th, while battles were still ongoing before the 9th?” Kocharyan stated. “There are numerous issues, and regarding the clarification of these issues, when they ask why you extended the deadline three times: the volume is very large. Not to mention a whole package of materials from the Investigative Committee must also come here, which will raise many questions, and many officials need to be summoned. After Mr. Pashinyan, many more important officials should come. I can say that we are planning to invite the President of the Republic of Artsakh, and we simply switched the invitation for the commander of the Artsakh Defense Army because I wanted Jalal Harutyunyan to come a bit later,” Kocharyan added.
