Armen Ashotyan Transferred to Detention Facility

The judicial decision regarding the case of Armenian Revolutionary Federation Vice President Armen Ashotyan will be announced today at 12:00 PM.

Armen Ashotyan has been transferred to a detention facility, as reported by his lawyer Tigran Atanesyan after the session. "The investigator could not answer any of my or Ashotyan's questions; it was evident that the judge understood everything, but I do not have high hopes," said Atanesyan.

It should be noted that Ashotyan has been charged with abuse of official powers and money laundering. In November 2022, a preventive measure prohibiting him from leaving the country was imposed, but he was re-arrested yesterday.

The Investigative Committee justifies Ashotyan's arrest under Article 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia (violation of conditions of preventive measures).
