9 Educational Complexes and 14 Schools to Be Built in Vayots Dzor and Tavush Provinces, Minister Announces

The government of Armenia will construct 23 new educational institutions in the Vayots Dzor and Tavush provinces, including 9 educational complexes and 14 schools. This information was shared today by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, during a government meeting, where she presented the relevant project.

For the preparation and expert evaluation of project documentation for construction works, 224 million 100 thousand drams were allocated from the state budget.

“The criteria for including educational institutions in the program for creating educational complexes are as follows: a small number of students in schools, the absence of preschool services, and a small number of beneficiary children,” said Andreasyan.

Based on these criteria, 4 communities were selected for educational complexes in Vayots Dzor: Artabuynk, Karaglukh, Arpi, and Martiros villages. In Tavush, 5 communities were selected: Lusadzor, Ptghavan, Agavnavanq, Norashen, and Voskavan villages.

The new school buildings will be constructed in the towns of Vayk and Areni in Vayots Dzor province, as well as in 8 communities in Tavush: Ayrum, Koti, Bagratashen, Artsvaberd, Aygedzor, Noyemberyan, Koghb, and Sevqar.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport also reminded that construction programs for 40 educational complexes are already underway in the Syunik region, with three buildings currently in the construction phase and one completed.

Zhanna Andreasyan also announced that similar educational complexes are planned to be built in the Lori and Shirak provinces, as well as in Yerevan soon.
