I Connect Today's Events with the Celebration of State Symbols Day in Armenia: Papikyan on Border Situation

The current border situation is something I also connect with the celebration of State Symbols Day in the Republic of Armenia today. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, during a session at the National Assembly on June 15.

“The situation is being presented to escalate or to demonstrate that the Armenian side has a destructive positioning and is constantly violating the ceasefire regime. I link today's incident to this day, considering that today State Symbols Day is celebrated in Armenia, and they have tried once again to showcase their provocative nature in this way. Thanks to the actions of our border guards, their objectives were not achieved. Unfortunately, there is one wounded by a sniper, and they have also been informed about the casualty,” said the minister.

It is noteworthy that on June 15, at 11:45 AM, Azerbaijani army units opened fire on Armenian positions located in the Teghi section, using mortars as well. In response to the enemy's fire, the Armenian side has one wounded, an officer of the RA National Security Service border unit, Arthur Armeni Azroyan (born in 2002).

Additionally, around 08:40 AM today, a group of Azerbaijani border guard servicemen attempted to advance towards the Hakari Bridge with the aim of placing a flag on Armenian territory. As a result of measures taken by the Armenian side, the attempted advance and flag placement by the Azerbaijani servicemen was thwarted.
