The Republican continues to assert his belief that the charges brought against him are politically motivated. According to a social poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos, 81 percent of Republican voters believe that the legal proceedings are driven by political motives.

Trump is now also the preferred candidate among approximately 43 percent of Republicans, leading Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has 22 percent.
