VIDEO: Residents of Jraghashen and Ditak Villages Block Yerevan-Artashat Road

Residents of Jraghashen and Ditak villages in the consolidated Artashat community have blocked the Yerevan-Artashat road. They are protesting against the prices for peach procurement. This was reported in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia by the Ararat regional administration.

“Currently, our specialists, as well as the head of the Artashat community, Karlen Mkrtchyan, are on site. The issue at hand is the procurement prices for peaches. There is still no clear information regarding this; we need to clarify what solution we can provide to the questions raised by the villagers. Perhaps there are individual purchasers involved, so we need to investigate what has caused the problem,” the administration stated.

The Ararat regional administration has noted that they will keep the issue under attention to ensure that a solution is found in the future.

It should be reminded that at the end of April this year, several villages in the Ararat region experienced hail. The most significant damage was recorded in the Kaghzrashen community, where the crop loss was approximately 60-65 percent. As a result, the marketable appearance of the peaches was affected.
