Ukraine Makes Progress in Counteroffensive, Stoltenberg Says

Ukraine has made progress in its counteroffensive operations, stated NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

During a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden, the NATO chief emphasized that the more territory Ukrainians can liberate, the stronger their position will be at the negotiating table.

According to Kyiv, Ukrainian forces have freed approximately 100 square kilometers of territory in recent days, including several small settlements. However, it is noted that the pace of military operations remains low, as there is a need to overcome heavily fortified Russian positions.

The Ukrainian armed forces are carrying out operations in multiple directions. The progress of these operations is complicated by the weather and the disaster caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam.

Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin labeled Ukraine's counteroffensive as unsuccessful, asserting that the Russian army is successfully repelling attacks while Ukrainian forces suffer enormous losses.
