Ukraine Intended to Blow Up All Bridges Over the Dnieper

The Ukrainian authorities initially intended to blow up all bridges over the Dnieper River to obstruct the advance of Russian troops. This was reported by Vzglyad, referencing BBC News.

According to the outlet, the Chief Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, prevented the implementation of these plans.

It is noteworthy that there are five bridges over the Dnieper in Kyiv: the Northern, Southern, Darnytskyi, Patona, and the metro bridge. The river can also be crossed along the dam of the Kyiv hydroelectric power station.
