Avinyan Receives a $50,000 Car as a Gift
The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has submitted his annual property declaration for 2022. According to information from the declaration presented to the Anti-Corruption Commission, Avinyan received a garage as a gift in 2014, purchased a Honda car manufactured in 2014 in 2021, and sold it for $11,000 in the reporting year.
Avinyan owns a private house in the Arabkir neighborhood of Yerevan, and in 2022, he received a Volkswagen car manufactured in 2021 as a gift. The other party in the transaction is noted to be Armen Avinyan, which indicates that the car valued at 19 million 300 thousand drams (about $50,000) was gifted by Avinyan's father.
According to Hayastan.news, he was gifted a white Volkswagen ID.4. Avinyan reports having 1 million 890 thousand drams in a bank account and possesses electronic accounts and cryptocurrencies. He has declared $3,000 in cash; at the beginning of the year, he had 26 million 300 thousand drams, which decreased to 12 million 500 thousand drams by year's end. He also has a pool worth 5 million 412 thousand drams.
His father has also gifted him property valued at 11 million drams, which is not disclosed in the declaration. He has a loan of 13 million drams from Haybusinessbank, received a salary of 5 million 212 thousand drams from the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, and received a salary of 3 million 700 thousand drams from the Yerevan Municipality from September 23, 2022, until the end of the year.
His wife, Mariam Pahlavuni, owns a private house and drives a 2017 Range Rover, which she purchased in 2020. She has zero drams in her bank account, 1 million 300 thousand drams in cash, and has received gifts of 11 million 300 thousand drams from Tigran Avinyan and 19 million 640 thousand drams from her mother-in-law.
