Important Investigative Action in Case of 15 Soldiers Who Died in Military Quarters, Lawyer Says
In the case of the 15 soldiers who died in a military quarters in the village of Azat, an important investigative action took place at the scene yesterday, attended by relevant staff from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, as well as the parents of the deceased soldiers. This was reported by the authorized representative of the victims, lawyer Norik Norikyan, on his Facebook page.
“Naturally, refraining from publishing the details of the investigative action, I must note that the results of the conducted actions have raised new questions rather than providing answers, and there are certain apparent contradictions with the factual data obtained from other investigative actions carried out during the criminal proceedings. We emphasize once again that if the 'Shooting Commanders' should be held accountable in this case, while the main responsible individuals evade punishment, we will be dealing with yet another representation that will once again morally and spiritually break our people. The chain of those responsible in this case is wider, therefore everyone should bear responsibility in proportion to their actions.
Once again, we officially declare that the victims do not believe the official version, have deep distrust, and do not rule out any other versions, including the deliberate deprivation of life of their children. We also do not exclude the possibility that the fire was intentionally set to conceal certain evidence and divert public attention from the real circumstances of this tragedy and the actual crime. The parents of the deceased soldiers will pursue this until the end to uncover the real circumstances of this heinous crime and hold all perpetrators accountable,” he wrote.
