Forest fires on the border between Russia and Kazakhstan remain uncontrollable. Fourteen employees of the forest enterprise have lost their lives.

The fire broke out in the Batpayevo forestry after lightning strikes on Thursday, and the terrain, which has proven inaccessible for machinery, did not allow for containment from the outset.

On the third day, the area affected by the fire has reached 60 thousand hectares. Currently, more than 1,000 people and 237 special vehicles are involved in firefighting efforts. The army will also be engaged in extinguishing the flames.
