Nigerian Schools Start Accepting Tuition Fees in Garbage

In Nigeria, schools have begun accepting tuition fees in the form of recycled waste. Local residents can now donate recyclable materials for processing, and the value of these donations will be calculated as their school fees. This was reported by the Telegram channel Komsolmolskaya Pravda.

The recycling points accept bottles, cans, boxes, and other plastic waste. In addition to school fees, applicants may also be required to use the generated income to pay teachers or purchase textbooks.

So far, only 40 schools have participated in the program. However, due to this initiative, the number of schoolchildren is already increasing, and the streets of the city are being cleared of waste. For instance, one school in Lagos managed to save money for a second building and accept 120 students instead of 7.
