New Evidence of Explosions at Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant

US intelligence satellites recorded an explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant immediately before the dam's destruction, a senior official from the White House has informed the New York Times.

According to him, the satellites detected a thermal signature characteristic of a strong explosion. The newspaper's source indicated that US intelligence suspects Russia of being involved in the dam's destruction, although no substantial evidence has yet been obtained.

Seismic sensors in Romania also registered a strong explosion with a radius of less than 35 kilometers around the Novaya Kakhovka dam. Based on those data, the explosion occurred at 2:54 AM on Tuesday. At that same time, President Zelensky stated that the dam had been blown up.

As reported earlier, Norwegian seismologists detected another, weaker seismic event about twenty minutes before the dam's collapse.

Residents living near the dam reported hearing several explosions as the dam began to collapse.
