VIDEO: Protesters Storm Venue for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Protests continue to surge in the capital of France. On Tuesday, June 6, protesters stormed the venue for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as reported by Reuters.

The French government announced that a total of 281,000 people took to the streets across the country on Tuesday, June 7, a significant decrease from the turnout in previous demonstrations.

It is noted that at that time, 782,000 people had participated in protests. Some protesters have threatened to disrupt the Olympic Games scheduled for next summer in France if President Macron does not withdraw his controversial pension reform plans.

International news outlets report that more than 11,000 police have been deployed across the country, with 4,000 stationed in Paris.

President Macron attributes these protests to a need to reduce pension deficits, which requires raising the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years.
