The ‘Gnunetsi Varazik’ Killed Yesterday Was Involved in the Case of Khachatur Sukiasyan's Brother's Gunfire

The victim of the shooting in Yerevan's Baghramyan Avenue, Varazdat Gasparyan, was a suspect involved in the criminal case against Robert Sukiasyan, the brother of the Civil Contract faction MP Khachatur Sukiasyan. This was reported by ‘Zhoghovurd’, adding details about the incident.

On the previous day, shamshyan.com reported that a murder with the use of firearms occurred in Yerevan, in the area leading from Baghramyan Avenue to James Bryce Street, near the number 8 polyclinic. The deceased, a 35-year-old resident of Vardanants Street in Yerevan known as ‘Gnunetsi Varazik’, is confirmed to be Varazdat Gasparyan.

According to ArmLur.am, it has been revealed that prior to his murder, Varazdat Gasparyan was also involved in another criminal case. Specifically, on July 18, 2021, shots were fired in the section of Amiryan Street leading towards Saryan Street, opposite the National Security Service office in Yerevan. The shots were fired from a black Mazda 6 vehicle.

Officials determined that on the same day, around 19:00, a dispute occurred over household matters involving Yerevan residents Robert Sukiasyan (51), Arman Apiyan (47), Varazdat Gasparyan (33), and Sargis Abgaryan (29), alongside another Yerevan resident, Narek Karapetyan (35), and Harut Habgaryan (42), a citizen of the United States.

According to acquired information, Robert Sukiasyan, brother of the MP and businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, fired shots from his firearm, injuring Harut Habgaryan in the leg. Robert Sukiasyan found himself in the defendant’s seat, facing charges of showing blatant disrespect towards society with the use of weapons, exhibiting hooligan tendencies in public places, and committing hooliganism with direct intent.

Varazdat Gasparyan also faced charges in this incident, as he was accused of displaying blatant disrespect towards society on July 18, 2021, exhibiting hooligan tendencies and committing hooliganism in a public place. This case is still under review in court, and now, two years later, one of the accused has been killed, shot in the eye.

It should be noted that on June 6, a murder with the use of firearms occurred in Yerevan.
