Agreement has been reached to conduct certain investigations at the site of the fire at the Azat military unit in the coming days. This was reported by Norayr Norikyan, a representative of the legal heirs of the soldiers who died on the day of the fire, on his Facebook page.
“I inform you that today, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ emergency service, the parents of the 15 soldiers who died at the military barracks in Azat village met with the Emergency Service Director and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel Kamo Tsutsulyan. The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Emergency Service, as well as the Deputy Head of the National Crisis Management Center, Colonel Arsen Saroyan, who literally stated during the January 20th broadcast of the 'Public Discussion' program on Public Television, that out of the 15 deceased soldiers, 14 had died from smoke inhalation. There were 21 people inside at the time, and 14 were found lying on their beds.
The parents of the deceased soldiers raised numerous questions. An agreement has been reached to conduct certain investigations at the site in the coming days. I will provide more comprehensive information regarding this case in the upcoming days…,” wrote Norikyan.
