Part of Nova Kakhovka Left Without Electricity Due to Accident at Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station
The coastal area of Nova Kakhovka has been left without electricity following shelling at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. This was reported by the city administration's Telegram channel.
"For safety reasons, the coastal area has been temporarily disconnected from the electricity supply of the Novokakhovsk city district," the report states.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated that Kyiv had detonated the structures of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which led to flooding in the surrounding areas.
Prior to this, Nova Kakhovka Mayor Vladimir Leontiev had stated that the worst possible consequences from the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station had been avoided.
On the night of June 6, the upper part of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was destroyed near Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson region. Dozens of settlements, including Kherson and Nova Kakhovka, have been flooded with water.
