Iran Unveils Its First Hypersonic Missile
On Tuesday, June 6, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) presented the "Fattah" hypersonic missile developed in Iran. According to Iranian officials, the missile has a range of up to 1,400 kilometers and can reach speeds between 13 and 15 Mach.
The hypersonic missile was unveiled during a special ceremony held in Tehran, attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, as reported by IRNA.
“The missile presented today is unique in the world… With this discovery, Iran has become one of four countries (in addition to Iran, Russia, the USA, China, and North Korea) that possess this technology,” stated Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, during his speech at the ceremony.
Military officials claimed that there is no defense system in the world capable of countering the missile, according to IRNA. On May 29, Amir Ali Hajizadeh announced the successful testing of the hypersonic missile.
