Video: Flowers Sold at Incomparably Low Prices
The Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has uncovered that a company engaged in the wholesale and export of flowers, particularly Dutch roses, falsified data in the accounting documents for flowers sold in the territory of the republic from 2021 to 2023.
Specifically, the price of a single unit of flowers was indicated in tax invoices as ranging from 80 to 208 AMD, while in the receipts from the cash register, the prices were recorded between 60 and 250 AMD, whereas the flowers were actually sold for at least 400 AMD.
Based on the operational-intelligence measures and acquired initial data, a preliminary assessment has shown that the state has suffered particularly large damages amounting to approximately 33 million AMD (32,806,747 AMD). The main department for the investigation of economic crimes and smuggling of the Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings under part 2 of paragraph 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code for the case of not paying taxes in especially large amounts.
The Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence of the State Revenue Committee urges business entities to refrain from distorting the actual prices of the goods supplied in the accounting documents issued in the name of buyer companies.
