VIDEO: "Even house arrest can be considered lenient," Ashot Pashinyan

“My approach is that even house arrest can be considered lenient for this case as a serious crime has occurred,” Ashot Pashinyan, the son of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, said during a conversation with reporters on June 5.

“There are many points that the defense has mentioned that do not correspond at all to reality. Mrs. Gayane has been publicly associated with many scandalous incidents. The incident occurred when she was leaving the court because she had prohibited the entry of officials to Yerablur. In this case, even house arrest can be considered much more lenient; the right thing is arrest,” Ashot Pashinyan stated.

According to him, it should be taken into account that a serious crime has been committed, for which the Armenian Criminal Code provides for imprisonment of 4 to 8 years.

It is reminded that the first court session concerning the abduction case of Nikol Pashinyan's son is currently taking place. Previously, it was reported that Gayane Hakobyan's detention had been replaced by house arrest, which the defense side finds unsatisfactory.
