Mirzoyan: Left His Assigned Position at a Difficult Time

“Among the former foreign ministers, I maintain quite a close connection with Zohrab Mnatsakanyan,” stated Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during discussions about the implementation of the 2022 budget.

“Some of the ministers who preceded him regularly write articles, and I am acquainted with their approaches, one way or another through the media. Unfortunately, I consider the positions expressed to be far from an adequate perception of reality and from proposing appropriate solutions, and therefore there is little room for discussion. In another case, I can recall that he left his assigned position during a difficult time along with several friends. I do not understand what there is to discuss with him. In another situation, perhaps it’s about motivation. I have no ideas about interests or possible solutions,” he noted.

According to Mirzoyan, not only former ministers but also experts are in communication. “There are experts with whom we pursue the same interest – the interest of Armenia. There are somewhat aligned perceptions, and we can engage in discussions, agree or disagree, and extract useful material from the conversation for the country; discussions are ongoing with such individuals.”
