Latvia to Provide Ukraine with 66 Cars Seized from Its Citizens
Latvian authorities will provide Ukraine with 66 cars that were seized from Latvian drivers found to have alcohol in their blood. This was reported by the 'Interfax-Ukraine' agency, citing 'Delfi.'
According to a statement from the State Insurance Agency, 'Latvia is donating 66 cars seized from drunk drivers to Ukraine.' As reported, in accordance with amendments made to the law on support for the civilian population of Ukraine by the Latvian parliament on February 18, 2023, vehicles seized in favor of the state can be transferred free of charge to the Ukrainian government to alleviate the consequences of the extraordinary situation related to military operations.
'This is one of the ways in which Latvia is helping Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression,' emphasized the announcement.
