VIDEO: Political Opponent Navalny's Supporters Detained

A global solidarity action has begun in various countries in support of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who is currently in a penal colony in the Vladimir region.

Today, more than 30 people have been detained in Russia in connection with actions supporting Alexei Navalny. Dozens of videos are circulating online showing Russian law enforcement detaining participants of the protests.

Protests have also been held outside of Russia, including in Tbilisi, Batumi, Yerevan, Brussels, Amsterdam, and more.

“Today, the action will involve more than 120 cities around the world,” Navalny’s team reported. In Yerevan, the protest was held near the statue of Alexander Miaskinyan.
