Ukrainian Armed Forces Ready for Counteroffensive, Says Volodymyr Zelensky
The Ukrainian armed forces are prepared for a counteroffensive, stated President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
"I don't know how long it will last. Frankly, there are several scenarios for the development of the situation, all of which are completely different. But we are ready," Zelensky said. According to him, Ukrainian authorities and command firmly believe in the success of the counteroffensive. The return of temporarily occupied territories to Ukraine will change the dynamics of the war, the president is confident.
In May, Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that Kyiv was still accumulating Western arms supplies and that the counteroffensive should be anticipated. It is unclear how the supply situation has changed in the course of half a month, but many experts say that the current weather conditions (dry and without precipitation) are ideal for the commencement of the counteroffensive.
