Armenian Deputy Prime Minister's Office Details Discussed Measures in Moscow

During a meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan, mutual understanding has been reached regarding steps to be taken in the fields of customs and border control. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by the office of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan in response to our inquiry.

Following the working group meeting in Moscow, the Armenian government announced that substantial progress had been made in coordinating methods for unblocking transport communications between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Specifically, a mutual understanding was achieved on the implementation of concrete steps towards the restoration and organization of railway communication along the Yeraskh-Julfa-Meghri-Horadiz route.

We inquired from the Deputy Prime Minister's office about the specific steps being discussed. “The steps relate to customs and border control processes,” the office clarified.

It is worth noting that a trilateral working group meeting on unblocking transport communications in the region was held on June 2 in Moscow, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan: Mher Grigoryan, Alexey Overchuk, and Shahin Mustafayev.
