Video: Eggs Sold with Passport in Russia's Chukotka Region
In Russia's Chukotka region, local residents are expressing their dissatisfaction with the shortage of chicken eggs. In the Bilibi district, a maximum of 10 eggs are distributed per person, and they can only be purchased with a passport. This was reported on Telegram by the regional head, Vladislav Kuznetsov.
"Eggs are sold only with a passport, just like in the 1990s," he wrote.
Russian media report that approximately 5,500 people live in Bilibi, which is about 10% of Chukotka's population. Eggs are being brought from Anadyr, which is located 600 kilometers away. At the same time, Kuznetsov has instructed to "quickly establish egg supplies in Bilibi that will meet the demand." He noted that a poultry farm is currently being constructed in Bilibi.
