Two Employees Fall from 4 Meters While Repairing Damaged Trolleybus Lines

Today, on June 2, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 02:50, the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received a call indicating that two cargo trucks had collided at France Square, resulting in injuries.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, it was revealed that under yet undisclosed circumstances, two employees of ‘Electrotrans’ LLC were conducting emergency repair work on the cargo bed of a truck related to the trolleybus lines when a truck of the Isuzu brand passed through the area, collided with the hanging trolleybus wires, and then damaged the truck bed. As a result, 64-year-old Hovik Khachatryan and 34-year-old Arthur Davtyan, who were working in the truck bed, fell approximately 4-5 meters down.

Emergency medical teams from Yerevan’s 1-03 service promptly arrived at the scene to provide necessary first aid to the injured. H. Khachatryan was then transported to Heratsi University Hospital No. 1, while A. Davtyan was taken to ‘Erebuni’ Medical Center.

A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.

Note: The suspect in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the criminal procedure code of the Republic of Armenia, with a legally binding court verdict.
