“The Military-Political Situation Around the CIS is Intensifying,” Says Lukashenko
The military-political situation around the CIS is intensifying and will continue to escalate. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with the heads of special services of CIS countries, as reported by belta.
“We must understand that large players surrounding Russia, Belarus, and the Central Asian states are gradually trying to divide us. We must not allow this. We see the growing militarization of NATO alliance countries and the unprecedented concentration of troops near our common territory, provoking conflicts,” Lukashenko said.
He believes that one of the key threats today is the information-psychological influence and the dissemination of obviously false, fake information. The aim of such actions is to undermine the authority of states in the international arena. Under the guise of fakes, the Belarusian leader noted, dangerous, aggressive actions are sometimes carried out.
Lukashenko emphasized that the Western informational monopoly, particularly the control over the internet, major social networks, and international media, only contributes to this situation.
It should be noted that the 52nd meeting of the Security Agencies and Special Services Heads Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States is currently taking place in Minsk, with the participation of Armenia’s National Security Service Director Armen Abazyan.
