Eight Injured in Belgorod Shelling; Evacuations Underway
Eight people have been injured due to shelling by armed forces in the Belgorod region. Readovka reports that evacuations are currently taking place.
According to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, the area is under constant bombardment. Residents are being evacuated from dangerous neighborhoods using protected vehicles.
“The lives of civilians are at risk, particularly in Shebekino and surrounding villages. The administrative agencies of the districts and cities are currently engaged in removing people from the area. Of course, this cannot be done under fire. We must wait for a ceasefire, to end the danger of being injured or killed by the shells of the Ukrainian armed forces,” the governor stated.
It has been reported that fighting is ongoing along the Russia-Ukraine border. Following the gunfire in Shebekino (Belgorod region), a police building is burning. The operational headquarters of Belgorod region has denied reports of any advancement by the Ukrainian armed forces in the area.
