Sharl Michel: "A Very Important Meeting Will Take Place Today, We Have Made Some Progress"
Today, a very important meeting will take place, and I will meet with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during a press conference at the opening ceremony of the second summit of the European Political Community held in Moldova on June 1.
“We have made some progress, and I hope that during this meeting we will confirm the common will to regulate relations between the two countries,” he said.
It has been previously announced that within the framework of this summit, a five-party meeting is scheduled, which will include Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Council President Charles Michel, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The meeting will take place at 16:30 Yerevan time.
It is noteworthy that after the first summit of the European Political Community held in Prague on October 6 last year, a four-party meeting took place between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Council President Charles Michel, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. On the same day, the leaders of Armenia and Turkey also met.
Furthermore, while 44 countries participated in the Prague summit, the number of participants this time is 47.
