VIDEO: EU Ambassador Calls Incidents in LGBT Community 'Shocking'

On May 31, during the Armenian Democracy Forum held in Yerevan, EU Ambassador Andrea Victorin described the incidents within the LGBT community as 'shocking.'

"I emphasize and place my hopes on civil society; this is about inclusivity. What does it mean to truly target all vulnerable groups, whether they are persons with disabilities or representatives of the LGBT community? There were incidents that were 'shocking' to me. I expect that civil society will defend and say, 'this should not happen.' People should have the right to live in a safe country, but I also want the Government and its members to state that this should not occur in our country, because this is also a point of democracy," Victorin stated.
