Video: Police Warn About Transparency Regulations, Lawyers Say 'It Has No Basis'
Starting from June 1, patrol officers and traffic police will identify vehicles that violate the rules concerning window transparency and impose administrative penalties equivalent to 25 times the minimum wage. According to national legislation and the technical regulations of the Customs Union, the window transparency of the front side windows of vehicles must be at least 70%.
While the police informed Auroranews that this is regulated by the Administrative Violations Code, lawyers counter that the requirement has no legal basis. Auroranews spoke with lawyers Aramazd Kiviryani and Gohar Meloyan.
Kiviryani noted, “The Administrative Violations Code clearly states that in this case, that transparency is determined by a government decision.”
