VIDEO: Jealousy, Russian Spouses, Pregnant Woman – Incident Involving a Soldier from the 102nd Military Base

This morning, we reported that several Telegram channels had released a video showing an altercation involving police, complete with shoving and shouting, which created confusion about who was arguing with whom.

According to Aravot.am, the video has caused significant concern among residents of Gyumri, who were curious about what was happening in the city even at midnight on social media.

The media outlet mentions: “Some were relaying what they heard, claiming the incident arose around tinted car windows, while others noted that local residents attempted to calm a Russian husband who was beating his pregnant wife, with intervention from neighborhood men and the police.”

Aravot.am has confirmed that the incident took place in Gyumri's 8th Military District, involving one of the contract soldiers from the 102nd Military Base.

According to our sources, the soldier had been visiting a friend's home for a family gathering, during which the host had become intoxicated and behaved inappropriately. The visiting contract soldier asked the hostess to intervene with her husband, which displeased his own wife and sparked jealousy. The woman began arguing with her husband, who slapped her.

The wife, who is indeed pregnant, became distraught and attempted to call the police, but her husband took the phone from her, stating, “I will call myself.” He then contacted the police's operational response center, prompting patrol officers to rush to the scene. However, since the couple's argument had spilled onto the street, neighborhood men also attempted to intervene.

Some of them began to shout at the husband who had assaulted his wife. The police, who had arrived to summon the couple, instructed the neighborhood men to calm down, but their presence escalated the conflict further.

As seen in the video, there was significant commotion and shouting. The police invited the Russian couple to the Mush police station, where, according to our sources, they provided statements detailing the festivities, the jealous scene, and their decision to call the police.

From the police’s press service, we were only informed that administrative arrests had been made for failing to comply with police orders, which affected six men from the 8th Military District of Gyumri. Since the investigation into the incident involving the Russian contract soldier is not under the jurisdiction of Armenian law enforcement, it has reportedly been transferred to the Russian side’s military investigative body.

Additionally, other videos have surfaced online where Russian voices can be heard asking what is happening. Some users claimed that during the argument involving the Russian spouses, the Russian man fired a shot; however, the authorities categorically deny this. It is worth noting that the incident occurred not last night but the night before.
