VIDEO: Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs on the Decision Regarding Fines for Tinted Windows

According to the provisions of national legislation and the technical regulations of the Customs Union, the light transmittance of a vehicle's front side windows must be at least 70%.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sarkisyan answered reporters' questions in the National Assembly. She noted that there is confusion regarding the law imposing fines for tinted windows, which many believe is new; however, it has existed previously but was not enforced due to the absence of appropriate equipment.

“It is no secret that the Police were not always equipped with modern tools. The updates in this equipment began globally as part of the police reforms. Since we initially did not have such devices across the entire Republic, it would not have been logical to fine a citizen in Yerevan while not doing so in Kotayk,” she stated.
